In this short tutorial we will be installing Zoom Client on Linux Mint 22. Zoom is a widely used Chat and Video conferencing platform hosted in a Cloud Platform. As a user you can create a meeting and sent invites to other people or join one invited by others. With Zoom you can do presentations by screen sharing or even give someone control over your machine mostly for consultancy purposes.
If you don’t want to have Zoom Client installed in your local Linux system there is an option of using a Web browser. All common web browsers are supported for real-time messaging, content sharing and Video calls. This guide is focused on the installation of Zoom Client on Linux Mint 22 but you can refer to official documentation for other modes of operation.
Install Zoom Client on Linux Mint 22
Since Zoom is not an open source application the software packages are not provided as part of Linux Mint 22 upstream repositories. We will download the officially provided Debian package.
Download the latest release of Zoom for Debian based systems.
wget https://zoom.us/client/latest/zoom_amd64.deb
Use apt or dpkg package manager to install Zoom Client on Linux Mint 22.
sudo apt install ./zoom_amd64.deb
Wait for the installation to complete then search for Zoom on your Linux Mint 22 machine to start using it.

If you’ve been invited for a meeting use the Join a Meeting button.

Enter Meeting ID, Your name and hit the Join button. For Sign in provide email address and login password

Uninstalling Zoom Client on Linux Mint 22
If you no longer need Zoom Client installed in your Linux Mint 22 machine uninstall it with the following apt command.
sudo apt remove zoom
